About The Programme
Our Primary PGCE - Lead Partner Pathway will be delivered by experienced teachers and senior leaders from our trust schools, enhanced by training and support sessions provided by Roehampton University. Our mentors are outstanding teachers and are also required to undertake training to develop their mentoring skills. This includes coaching, effective classroom observation and feedback skills. The level of guidance and advice that trainees receive is of an exceptionally high standard and we pride ourselves in the successful relationships we foster with each student.
In addition to this, you will be part of a strong team of students who will meet regularly to train, share experiences and build on good teaching practice, adding a support network accessible throughout the year.
Course Content
Throughout your training, you will gain experience working within different settings across our trust and with a wide range of children in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. This will ensure that you receive a broad understanding of the range of teaching required to suit the differing needs, abilities and socio-economic backgrounds of the pupils. There will be three assignments as well as two assessed placements and you will have both school and university-based mentors during the year. There are additional ITaP (intensive training and practise) weeks scheduled into the programme to enable students to gain a deeper understanding of aspects such as phonics and assessment for example.
QTS/PGCE
PACE Academy Trust works in partnership with Roehampton University and students work towards their Primary PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
At the end of the course you will be awarded with 60 masters credits.
